Clarkson University - Online Master of Science in Data Analytics
Clarkson University offers an online Master of Science in Data Analytics program that focuses on the tools and technologies used to collect, organize, and interpret large datasets for decision-making and optimization across a broad range of industries. The data analytics curriculum includes coursework in data mining, database systems, statistical modeling, and data visualization and structuring. This is a 33-credit master’s program that can be completed in one-and-a-half years of full-time enrollment. Students who opt for part-time enrollment are encouraged to finish the program in three years. The MS in Data Analytics program is 100% online and does not require any campus visits.
The MS in Data Analytics program at Clarkson University utilizes a learning management system (LMS) that supports synchronous instruction. Weekly lectures and class discussions are streamed in real-time through AdobeConnect, and students must be logged into the LMS to participate. Students can also interact with classmates and instructors through online discussion forums that are integrated into the LMS.
The MS in Data Analytics curriculum at Clarkson University is grounded in five core three-credit courses: Database Modeling, Design and Implementation; Optimization Methods for Analytics; Probability and Statistics for Analytics; Information Visualization; and Data Mining. Students can then choose four additional three-credit electives from an array of courses in other facets of analytics. These include: Data Warehousing; Modeling for Insight; Geospatial Systems; Computational/Machine Learning; Artificial Intelligence; Econometrics; Digital Signal Processing; and Marketing Research Methods. The program also includes a six-credit, applied analytics capstone, which challenges students to engage in a real-world data analytics project.
Clarkson University is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
