The Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) offers an online Master of Science in Information Technology and Management (MS ITM) program that has a concentration in Business Intelligence and Analytics. Students in the MS ITM program must adhere to course schedules for completing and submitting assignments, but lectures and other course materials are available on-demand, 24-7. The LMS also allows students to interact with classmates and instructors. Students who live in close proximity to UT Dallas may be required to take exams on campus. However, the program is designed to accommodate online students who cannot be on campus for exams.
The MS ITM curriculum at UT Dallas is grounded in four core IT and computer systems courses: Systems Analysis and Project Management; Data Communications; Object Oriented Programming; and Data Management. In addition, students must take at least three core business courses, which can be chosen from among the following: Accounting for Managers; Financial Management; Business Economics; Marketing Management; Quantitative Introduction to Risk and Uncertainty in Business; Operations Management; and Organizational Behavior.
Students who opt for the concentration in Business Intelligence and Analytics must then take at least three courses in that subject area. These include: Business Data Warehousing; Business Analytics with SAS; and Advanced Business Intelligence with SAS. Those who graduate with a 3.0 or better GPA in the Business Intelligence and Analytics requirements automatically receive the SAS-UTD Graduate Certificate in Data Mining and Business Intelligence. The remaining six credits required to complete the program are accumulated through two additional electives in approved areas like: Supply Chain Software; Accounting Systems Integration and Configuration; Agile Project Management; and High Performance Analytics.
