Online Master's in Data Analytics and Data Science Programs in Nebraska

There are currently two schools in Nebraska offering online master’s in analytics programs: Bellevue University and Creighton University. Bellevue University offers a Master of Science in Business Analytics that targets three core areas of learning: business foundations, business analytics, and information systems. Students in the program learn to use advanced analytics tools and technologies to optimize organizational performance, inform decision-making, and improve marketing strategies. Full-time students can complete the program in 18 months. Students who opt to enroll part-time typically finish the requirements in 36 months.

The online MS in Business Analytics at Bellevue University utilizes a learning management system that supports asynchronous instruction. This allows online students to access videotaped lecture and other course materials on-demand, 24-7. The program accepts applications four times per year, in the fall, winter, spring, and summer.

Creighton University’s Heider College of Business offers an online Master of Science (MS) in Analytics that focuses on the tools and technologies data analytics professionals use to support fact-based decision-making in business and other enterprises. The program offers concentrations in Business and Marketing. Students who enroll in one or two courses per semester can expect to graduate from Creighton’s MS in Analytics program in two years.

The Heider College of Business uses a cohort model for its online master’s programs. Students begin the program as a group, and progress together through several core courses requirements. Classes are taught using an online learning platform that supports asynchronous instruction, which means that videotaped lectures and other course materials are available on-demand, 24-7. However, instructors may hold live-streamed synchronous lectures and/or discussions from time to time. The program enrolls a new cohort of students twice a year, in the fall and in the spring.

In addition to the two in-state schools offering online master’s in analytics, there are 75 schools in other states that offer online master’s programs in data science and business intelligence, as well as in data analytics, that accept applicants from Nebraska. Of these schools, 61 have 100% online programs, while the other 14 require online students to attend no more than two on-campus sessions per year. Most schools charge the same tuition to in-state and out-of-state online students. However, potential applicants should inquire with schools about total tuition costs as some do charge higher tuition rates for out-of-state students.
