Maryville University uses the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) which supports synchronous and asynchronous course delivery. Students have opportunities to participate in synchronous (real-time) discussions with peers and faculty. In addition, students have access to asynchronous video lectures, VoiceThread presentations, discussion boards, and slideshows. Each learning module links to all of the materials needed for the week including activities, readings, discussion boards, and assignments.
The online Bachelor of Science in Finance comprises 128 credits including general degree requirements, a business core, financial services major courses, and financial services electives. The business core includes courses such as Financial Accounting; Managerial Accounting; Business Communications; Digital Foundations; Business Statistics; and Principles of Marketing. The financial services major courses may include Personal Finance; Financial Institutions; Portfolio Management; Money and Banking; and Securities Analysis/Investment Techniques. Electives include three of the following: Financial Planning; Topics in Finance; Financial Services Internship; and Consumer Market Behavior.
