Arizona State University - Online Master of International Health Management (MIHM)
The College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University (ASU) offers an online Master of International Health Management (MIHM) with four tracks: Hospital Management, Health Economics, Health Informatics, and Quality Improvement in Healthcare. ASU has partnered with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia to offer this 100% online program. Specifically designed for those interested in international health systems management, the MIHM degree seeks to educate leaders in health care policy, finance, global awareness, patient safety, cultural competence, and health care development.
Courses are offered online through both universities in order to draw on the expertise of international faculty and to create opportunities for global networking and partnerships. In addition, students have global access to peers and leaders through the PLuS Alliance which includes Arizona State University, the University of New South Wales, and King’s College London. This alliance exposes students to international teaching and academics.
The MIHM degree can be completed in one year on a full-time basis, or two years part-time. ASU courses begin every 7.5 weeks. The MIHM degree requires completion of 30 credits through 10 courses. The program is 100% online with no campus visits required. A culminating portfolio project ensures demonstration of skill mastery.

Most ASU online courses are delivered asynchronously through the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Some synchronous activities may be required. Asynchronous materials may include pre-recorded videos, individual and group assignments, and assessments. Peer/faculty interaction may take place through online conferencing and multimedia tools such as discussion boards and chat, as well as via phone and email.
The Master of International Health Management (MIHM) program consists of two required courses, four courses for each track, and four electives. Required courses include Health Care Management and Finance and Comparative Health Care Systems (UNSW).
Courses for the Hospital Management track include High-Value Patient-Centered Care; Process Engineering; Healthcare Economics and Financial Management (UNSW); and Health Leadership and Workforce Management (UNSW).
Courses for the Health Economics track include Health Care Systems and Design; Health Economics, Policy, and Payment Models; Economic Evaluation in Healthcare (UNSW); and Healthcare Economics and Financial Management (UNSW).
Courses for the Health Informatics track include Applied Biostatistics in Medicine and Informatics; Fundamentals of Health Informatics; Health Informatics Database Modeling & Applications; and Health Care Systems and Design.
Courses for the Quality Improvement in Healthcare track include High-Value Patient-Centered Care; Process Engineering; Health Leadership and Workforce Management (UNSW); and Clinical Governance and Risk Management (UNSW).
Electives chosen must be different from the courses in the track chosen.
